Trust & Safety Lead

We're looking for an experienced Trust and Safety Lead to create, uphold and action upon policies to create a safe platform for the VRChat community. Previous experience working with, building, or leading a team focusing on these duties is a requirement! VRChat is a “live” platform that’s constantly updated and evolving, so you’ll see your work have an immediate impact on our massive global community of users.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer ownership of T&S team from the current T&S Lead and transition duties, responsibilities
  • Lead and grow the Trust and Safety team
  • Work with the existing Trust and Safety team to provide high-quality, balanced, and consistent Trust and Safety services, including (but not limited to) moderation of users and content in VRChat
  • Around-the-clock moderation in VRChat, Discord, and social media sites
  • Accept and handle tickets assigned via Moderation support requests from users
  • Accept and handle reports given by users via in-application tools
  • Gather and report information on items that require attention from other teams
  • Work with various teams on developing and implementing changes in the Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and other guidelines documents

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 3 years of experience moderating online services, experiences, content, or large internet communities from a business standpoint
  • In other words, we’re looking for more experience than moderating a Discord, Twitch channel, or other similar platforms
  • Experience leading and growing a team, ideally in a moderation capacity
  • Demonstrated interest in VR, online communities, or be a VRChat user and creator! Knowing how our platform and community works is essential for this role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of disciplines within the team
  • Self-starter and independent that can successfully follow through on initiative without the assistance of others
  • Highly organized and effectively able to demonstrate the ability to hit deliverable deadlines with high quality
  • The ability to maintain calm and control while handling moderation incidents
  • A basic level of understanding of Unity 3D
  • Capable of and understanding that moderation involving objectionable content on a regular basis is possible and probable

Bonus Points

  • Multilingual capability
  • Extended technical knowledge or experience with Unity 3D and related development tools
  • Experience with the VRChat SDK
  • Experience working on a “live” app, shipping frequent updates and responding to user feedback
